Optimal Projective Three-Level Designs for Factor Screening and Interaction Detection

Orthogonal arrays are widely used in industrial experiments for factor screening. Suppose only a few of the factors in the experiments turn out to be important. An orthogonal array can be used not only for screening factors but also for detecting interactions among a subset of active factors. In this article, a set of optimality criteria is proposed to assess the performance of designs for fact...

Projective three-level main effects designs robust to model uncertainty

This paper is concerned with designing experiments under the assumption that an analysis strategy is used that considers interactions in addition to main effects. A criterion which averages an approximation to A s -efficiency over lower-dimensional projections of the design is introduced to compare designs. A columnwise design procedure is used to construct three-level designs for six factors i...

Optimal Designs for Hierarchical Interaction

In linear models with hierarchical interaction structures product type designs are shown to be D{optimal simultaneously for the whole parameter vector and for testing against any hierarchical submodel. Moreover, product type designs are also q {optimal for the highest order interactions.

Flag-transitive Point-primitive symmetric designs and three dimensional projective special linear groups

The main aim of this article is to study (v,k,λ)-symmetric designs admitting a flag-transitive and point-primitive automorphism group G whose socle is PSL(3,q). We indeed show that the only possible design satisfying these conditions is a Desarguesian projective plane PG(2,q) and G > PSL(3,q).

E-optimal Designs for Three Treatments

E-optimality is studied for three treatments in an arbitrary n-way heterogeneity setting. In some cases maximal trace designs cannot be E-optimal. When there is more than one E-optimal design for a given setting, the best with respect to all reasonable criteria is determined.
